Installing WordPress On Local Server Using XAMPP

First of all, you have to create a database to install WordPress. To do that, get back to the XAMPP control panel. Click on the ‘Admin’ link in the MySQL section. This will take you to the phpMyAdmin page.

You can also get to this page by entering the following URL into your browser –http://localhost/phpmyadmin/

Right under the big ‘Databases’ title, you will find a section titled ‘Create database’. Provide the database name and click ‘Create’. This will create the database for you. Note down the database name, we will need it for installing WordPress.
